What We'll Cover

EMAIL MARKETING FOR SMALL BUSINESSES &
CREATIVE PRACTITIONERS OVERVIEW

Across eight sessions, here's what you'll learn, explore and leave with:

Where to Begin?

Before you build anything new, it's important that you understand what you already have.

In this first session, you'll audit your current email marketing activity, focusing on what's working, what isn't, and what's missing entirely. We'll discuss common early mistakes and how they can be avoided.

You'll leave this session with a clear picture of were you're starting from and a strategy to build on across the remaining seven sessions. If you're not already settled on a platform, we'll explore the options that best suit small businesses and creative practitioners, so you can lay foundations that match your needs.

Breaking Down Your Audience

How often do you receive an email that doesn't feel like it was written for you?

In this session, you'll explore audience segmentation. We'll look at why that sensation of an email meant for someone else happens, what different groups need from you and how targeted emails consistently outperform blanket seeds.

Saying Hello with a Welcome Sequence

Your welcome sequence is one of the most important email sequences you'll ever send, because it sets the tone for every interaction that follows.

You'll learn how to plan and write a welcome sequence that introduces your small business or creative practice, builds trust and moves your subscribers towards taking action.

Lead Sequences and Conversions

While a welcome sequence lays the initial groundwork, a lead sequence moves your audience from interested to ready, and that doesn't have to mean ready to buy a product. It can mean ready to commit to an idea, a service or a process.

In this session, you'll explore what makes a lead sequence work, how to structure one around your specific offer and how to write emails that guide subscribers towards a decision without them ever feeling pushed.

Nurture Sequences

Not every subscriber will be ready to buy into what you're offering straight away, and that's completely fine.

In this session, you'll learn how to build a nurture sequence that keeps your audience engaged, builds long-term relationships and ensures you stay front of mind until they are.

Staying on the Radar with Newsletters

When someone signs up to receive your newsletter, they're handing you something valuable - a direct line that doesn't depend on an algorithm.

For small businesses and creative practitioners, newsletters are one of the most powerful forms of email marketing available. In this session, you'll explore what makes a newsletter worth reading, as well as how to find your angle, develop a consistent format and build a readership that grows over time.

Making Email Marketing Work for You

The juggle that small businesses and creative practitioners face is real.

In this session, you'll explore how to make email marketing as effortless as possible through automations, the systems that work in the background so that you don't have to. You'll practice setting up automations and using your platform to its full potential, so your email marketing keeps running even when your attention is elsewhere.

Measuring, Testing and Scaling

Good email marketing never stands still.

In this final session, you'll learn how to read your data, run simple tests to improve your results and build on what's working. This way, your email marketing will continue to grow alongside your business.

The Final Project

Each week, as you build your skills, you'll apply what you've learned directly to planning and executing a welcome sequence, a lead sequence, a nurture sequence, and a newsletter to submit for your 1:1.

1:1 Session

At the end of this email marketing course, you'll be offered a 1:1 session to talk through anything you're hoping to achieve, anything you're finding challenging, or any next steps you want to take, as well as your final project.
